Passport Description: Glacier-capped mountains, wild Pacific coast and magnificent stands of old-growth forests, including temperate rain forests, have made Olympic famous. Isolated for eons by glacial ice, and later by the waters of Puget Sound, the Olympic Peninsula has developed eight plant species and 15 animal species that are found nowhere else on Earth.
